Jefferson County Foster Care Agencies have come together for a powerful event on May 16, 2026. Registration is open as of April 1, 2026. If you are interested in learning about being a foster parent with the state, private agency or ways to aid children in foster care please join us on May 16th! The summit brings together foster parents, social workers, children, and local leaders to share experiences, challenges, and solutions.

Understanding the Foster Care Landscape in Our Community
Foster care plays a critical role in providing safe, temporary homes for children who cannot live with their birth families. In our community, the number of children entering foster care has steadily increased over the past few years.
At the summit, you will hear from youth who grew up in the foster care system, foster families, and the diverse agencies who train, support and supervise the placements.
Stories That Inspire: Voices from Foster Families
One of the most moving parts of the summit will be hearing directly from foster parents and youth who have lived through the system. Their stories bring fostering to life and show us we can be a foster home, with all the challenges and gifts fostering can bring.
